Massimo Luciani

Massimo Luciani is Professor Emeritus of Public Law at the Department of Law of Sapienza University of Rome, where he became full professor on 1 November 1996. He had graduated from the same University on 8 April 1975. He is a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. On 13 November 2018, he was awarded an honorary PhD by the University of Aix-Marseille.

He served as President of the Italian Association of Constitutional Law Scholars in 2015-2018 and as President of the Gruppo di Pisa Association for the study of constitutional justice in 2008-2010.

He has been a member of the High Council of the Bank of Italy.

He has also been a member of various committees, including the Government Commission for Constitutional Reforms (established in 2013), the Commission entrusted with drafting a judicial reform proposal (established in 2015), the Joint Committee for the Implementation Rules of the Special Statute of Friuli Venezia-Giulia Autonomous Region, and the Commission for devising measures for the judicial reform (established in 2021).

He has been a practicing lawyer.
